Blank Canvas - new single releases 18 August

‘Blank Canvas’ is an energetic track that features Jacko Peake on saxophone and Becca Toft on trumpet, with Jonathan Wills on drums and production. Paul plays guitars, bass, keyboards and sings all vocals.

Paul says: “I first demoed ‘Blank Canvas’ in 2022, and Jonathan and I reworked it during sessions for ‘Rain Down My Window Pane’ in 2023. Originally I had drum and brass samples to write the parts and get them down. Jonathan added amazing drums and we replaced brass samples with the playing talents of Jacko and Becca to keep it all real. I also needed to redo the guitars and rewrite lyrics. It’s taken a while to revisit it, and I finally got to record new vocals at Jonathan’s studio in July this year, so it’s great to get it finished and out!”

Blank Canvas is scheduled for release on 18 August on all digital streaming platforms. The cover artwork features Paul’s 1986 Rickenbacker 330 Fire-Glo, which was used in the final recording.
